BluWave Audio, a division of Universal Studios Sound Department, is an 18,000 square foot facility dedicated to Digital Mastering, Restoration, Sound Transfer, Digital Archival, Trailer Mixing. BluWave Audio features 2 large studios, 5 mixing suites and 3 Sonic Studio editorial suites. In addition, there are 4 rooms equipped for quality control and transfer services.
All of the rooms were designed by Jeff Cooper & Associates and equipped with 5.1 monitoring. Studios A and B feature Harrison consoles while the DVD Mastering and Transfer suites are equipped with Digidesign Systems. The Transfer rooms are designed to provide high confidence in quality control while making audio and video copies in all formats. The audio restoration rooms focus on Sonic Studio Sound Blade NoNOISE™ digital audio workstations for frame-by-frame audio restoration. Outboard equipment includes devices such as Cedar processors and plug-ins for Digidesign's Pro Tools.
